These terms are an agreement between you and Christina Armstead, who operates Spot My Ride ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard License Agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
1. Who can use Spot My Ride
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. Each account is for one person. Please give accurate details and keep your password private.
2. What the app does
Spot My Ride helps you save where you parked, set parking reminders, share your car's location, see your family's parked cars, contact your SOS contacts and emergency services, and get directions, including Safe Routes in some US areas. Which features you can use depends on your plan.
3. Plans and payments
- Monthly plans renew automatically every month until you cancel.
- 24-hour passes are a one-time payment, last 24 hours and do not renew.
- Free trial. Eligible new subscribers can try a monthly plan free for 3 days. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the plan starts and you are charged.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google through your store account. You can manage or cancel your plan in your App Store or Google Play settings. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your plan renews.
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your plan.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules.
- Prices can change. If they do, Apple or Google will tell you before the new price applies.
4. Important safety notice
Spot My Ride is a helpful tool, but it is not an emergency service and it cannot be guaranteed to work every time.
- GPS can be inaccurate, especially in parking garages and between tall buildings.
- Reminders and alerts can be late or missed, for example when your phone is off, has no connection, or saves battery.
- SOS calls and messages use your phone's own calling and messaging and depend on your network.
- In an emergency, always call your local emergency number directly.
- Safe Routes uses public data that can be incomplete or out of date. It does not promise that any route is safe. Always use your own judgment.
- Do not use the app in a way that distracts you while driving. Follow traffic laws and parking rules. You are responsible for parking fees, tickets and towing.
5. Family and sharing
Only add people who agree to share with you. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. You can remove a family member at any time.
6. Your content
Photos and details you add stay yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to you and to the people you share with, only to run the app. Do not upload anything unlawful or anyone else's personal details without their permission.
7. Things you must not do
Do not use Spot My Ride to follow or track anyone without their consent, break the law, harm or harass others, copy or reverse engineer the app, or interfere with how it works.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
9. No guarantees
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, accurate or free of errors.
10. Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, or for losses caused by inaccurate locations, missed or late reminders or alerts, parking fees, tickets, towing, theft or damage to your vehicle, or by relying on a route. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
11. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is important. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, except where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be changed.
